DU:RA adds a sixth release to its catalogue of community-oriented endeavours. Operating out of Eora, Australia, it represents psychedelic-infused productions rooted in Australian grounds. With Rush, Fraser Alexander deepens his own sonic language while simultaneously offering his interpretation of the label’s identity through tense rhythms and soundscapes.
Run by n-trip and Ritmu, DU:RA maintains a community-driven approach in curating its output. What started out as a platform to release their own productions has evolved into a DIY ecosystem where local talent is nurtured and artistic connections are formed. After contributing to DU:RA’s second release, Fraser Alexander now returns with a five-track sequence. The release as a whole reads as a culmination of friendship between artist and label. Fraser Alexander sketches his sound through muddy techno structures and glitchy soundscapes, positioning his productions for both listening and dancefloor purposes, while both n-trip and Ritmu step in with signature remixes
Amidst the sequence lies Cascade, Minimal Collective’s premiere pick, a track that carries restless kicks through swirling psychedelic layers, picturing a nocturnal outdoor gathering deep in Eora, Australia.
