The South Korean label Huinali Recordings releases a hypnotic VA album, consisting of 18 tracks, with a dub ambient sound and an ancient feeling. One of the artists is Berlin-based DJ and producer Emika Elena with an ominous track ‘Nettaiya’.
Huinali Recordings, based in Jeju Island and coming from Oslated, is mainly a dub techno and dub ambient label with a specific taste. The album title, Mirinae / 미리내", is a dialect of the ancient Jeju Island and means 'the Milky Way / 銀河水'. In the shape of a huge vortex, hundreds of millions of stars form in a certain order. To the ancient Jeju people, Mirinae refers to a great cosmic river where dragons were living.
Emika Elena lives up to her trademark sound on ‘Nettaiya’, producing a feeling of "hypnotic darkness” and creating an exciting sense of deepness and darkness.
