Introspective techno alchemist Gilmer Galibard pays homage to the diverse manifestations of friendship across his new EP ‘Anam Cara’ released via his own imprint. The EP’s three tracks offer a deep dive into the multifaceted nature of relationships, weaving together aural connections whilst allowing new bonds to take shape.
Since having created Gilmer Galibard Records, the British producer has been steadily crafting projects to showcase the diverse and narrative focused side of electronic music. A scrapbook of personal experiences, each release looks within and produces a sensory delight for the listener.
‘Anam Cara’ is no exception to this philosophy. Meaning ‘soul friend’ in Gaelic, Galibard showcases the literal musical representation of connection that goes far beyond the physical and even the emotional. Throughout its three tracks, translucent fluidity contrasts industrial sound elements, culminating in a contemplative feel that encourages the listener to reflect on the nuances of intricate relationships.
Our premiere pick ‘Henko (Tapasya Mix) continues this dialogue of harmonious variance. Impelling metallic kicks and shimmering high-end accents together represent the many moods and emotions forming powerful bonds.
