Berlin based Mruda releases Shapeshifting on his imprint Bluegold. Rooted in techno, transformed through modularity, sounds touch upon the interplay of light and dark, airy and dense. A release proving opposites don’t clash, but converge.
Mruda’s sublabel Bluegold lives up to its namesake – showing that different elements can become one. While Blue colours the night, gold is grounded in earth. In Bluegold’s spirit, the two collide to programme sounds meant to shape a ritual of outdoor dance-floors.
Bluegold became a second layer in Mruda’s body of work. Through his mother label ACID Reflux, he released the collaborative EP A Gate to the Forest and hosted a series of events in the hidden circuits of Berlin. With Bluegold entering the spheres as a sublabel, the Berlin-based artist cultivates an ecosystem where the psychedelic side of Berlin’s electronic spirit flows.
After opening the catalogue alongside Archypness with Theom, Mruda further carves out Bluegold’s identity through a four-track EP rooted in versatility. Shapeshifting is modular at heart. Sound merely flows and takes different shapes, creating breathing compositions set to make the mind and body wander.
Minimal Collective premieres WOMB, where kicks rattle fast but open up the space. Pulsing from modular cables, shifting sounds set a scene of open air, blowing trees and rumbling speakers during peak time hours.
