Sense Code is the brainchild of two members of the avant-garde Italian techno movement,  Enrico Caldini, aka Gabsphere, and Samuele Larese. The label’s first outing fosters local talent, creating a deep listening experience for dance floor moments both hypnotic and introspective. SENSE001 leaves the listener yearning more as we eagerly await the continued development of an alluring sound it will call its own.

For its debut VA release, Sense Code invites Alessio Meneghello, better known as Alan Backdrop, one of the most exciting underground artists to emerge from Italy in the last decade. Renowned for his melting pot of sounds that ride the fine line between techno and trance, Backdrop’s productions are filled with crisp breakbeats, sci-fi vocal samples and ethereal pads. As a performing artist, he has been a prolific DJ on the global stage for over a decade at institutions such as Tresor and psychedelic festivals like MO:DEM.

Alan Backdrop’s Nezera, our premiere pick, differs from some of his more recent outings. Slower in its pace, yet still encapsulating his signature approach to scintillating percussion and atmospheric textures.
