Dean Grenier’s upcoming View Source EP slips the listener into a liminal space, mediating between the elemental tensions of softness and density. Engaged with emotive encounters, the second release of Grenier’s Handworks label unfolds in a dialogue of serrated bellows and whispering roars.

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, producer and DJ Dean Grenier (formerly DJG) brings an effortlessly fluid approach to music, embracing change with quiet confidence. Grounded in his roots as a key figure in California's drum & bass scene and early American dubstep, Grenier has steadily evolved, moving through techno, electro, IDM, and ambient.  His kite-like, free-flowing sensibility remains tethered to human connection, continuing to be a constant source of anticipation.

Grenier’s desire to both explore divergent paths whilst staying connected becomes an extension of himself in his own imprint, ‘Handworks’. Inspired by the German word ‘Handwerk’, meaning ‘craft’, the label underscores the hands-on, tactile nature of Grenier's artistry. A space for music that’s intimate and poetic. Creating something that transcends its digital presence, inviting one to truly feel its essence and engage with it on a tangible level. Following Stars Apart, Handworks 002 marks a shift inward for Grenier, offering a clearer glimpse into the label’s ethos.

Minimal Collective spotlights the title track, View Source. Anchoring itself between Half Moon Bay and Cyan Wave, the piece stands apart, juxtaposing the fluid current of a moody, earth-toned release. With its glitched layers and broken contours, the EP’s namesake cut grounds Grenier’s guidance in a groove-driven, unapologetically off-grid and non-uniform channel.
