First Order Approximation is a collaboration between Sense Code founders Enrico Caldini and Samuele Larese. The duo is beginning to cement itself as a leader in the emerging Italian deep techno scene and shares the EP with Italian prog-leader Alan Backdrop.

SENSE002 serves to further the label's developing sonic identity, with their penchant for deep exploration and psychedelic hypnosis an ever-present. The four tracks vary in intensities and affects, yet remain connected through their driving percussion and heady soundscapes.

First Order Approximation’s ‘Obsessive Behaviour’ is presented as an extended Doppler Effect, with distract percussion slowly emerging into captivating focus, before retreating once more into a clouded haze. The track recasts a Basic Channel-esque spaced-out sonic field with a renewed urgency brought by its locomotive kick drum and frenetic instrumentation.
