Synergetic force Hasvat Informant and Mick Gristle traverse a vast sound panorama on their forthcoming ‘Chiral Centers’ EP, released on the Australian rising imprint Headnoiz. Featuring four tracks built on ominous atmospherics and two dancefloor-vibrant remixes, this release is a fine example of ingenious sound architecture.
Steadily rising from down under, Eora (Sydney)-based label Headnoiz is building a reputation recently reaching far beyond the Australian shores. Dedicated to highlighting talents from across the Australian scene, the young label pulls together local artists alongside ones further abroad for a unique vision of techno and trance aesthetics.
Straddling equally dark and delicate stratospherics, the label’s second release marks an exciting turn in a developing catalogue. Here, diverse backgrounds synergize to a powerful force: Mick Gristle in erratic textures and intricate sound design; Hasvat Informant in dark techno percussions and deep trance atmospherics. Based in Naarm (Melbourne), the duo presents an EP that traverses rapturous soundscapes, while maintaining a cohesive and euphorically intriguing thread across its six tracks.
Premiere pick ‘Phygelium Slip’ spirals into the heart of creative energy. Synthesising a rich environment dense with harmonically challenging rhythms and off-kilter syncopation, the track carries the EP’s A-side to a chiral, climax close.
