A new sub division of label Out Electronic Recordings, Pregnant Void focuses its efforts on highlighting ambitious production techniques and sound design, with a heavy emphasis on field recordings. The concept emerged as the label delved into exploring the connection between sounds and emotions, investigating how frequencies interact with living beings.

‘Beams of Light’ exudes this philosophy thoroughly. Boasting a vast roster of newly emerging talent and familiar names, the compilation promises sounds that will fully envelope the listener and feed them in equal parts the perceptual and the physical.

These concepts manifest themselves on our Premiere pick ‘Visionary’ by Ina Kacz. A bubbling brook of moody atmosphere. Patient with its build up, Kacz allows a wash of reverb laden feedback to propel the listener along the gentle stream. Tied together neatly with the use of dubby bass tones, ‘Visionary’ lets you feel the pulse of reality whilst seemingly floating high above it.
