Trailblazer LDS makes an astonishing comeback on Monnom Black by showcasing modern dub techno through six cutting-edge tracks. The Digi Spa EP presents LDS’ unique production aesthetic, complex sound design and nuanced details that place him at the forefront of avant-garde electronic music.
LDS, which is an alias used by the German producer Luca Daniel Schwarz, plays a significant role in reviving dub-infused electronic music productions. His innovative approach to dub techno involves blending sounds from both digital and physical worlds, reflecting his open-minded and continuous exploration of sound. Just as the artwork of the EP, LDS’ works are influenced by artificial intelligence and digital innovation. Whilst being at the forefront of futuristic dub techno sound, he draws inspiration from sound pioneers such as Basic Channel, Monolake, Substance and Vainqueur.
Following the success of his previous releases on respected labels like Transatlantic, positivesource, and Blue Hour music, the Stuttgart-based producer is back with his second EP on Dax J’s Monnom Black label. The 'Digi Spa' EP showcases a distinct style, featuring lively loops, unconventional rhythms, and modulated dub chords all interwoven into an intricate sonic landscape. The EP's overall sound is characterised by a blend of high-tech and atmospheric elements, creating a stunning listening experience through techno and dub.
Minimal Collective presents the forceful closing track ‘Texture Mapping (Thema Mix)’, which is definitely not made for faint-hearted listeners. LDS presents thrilling dub chords guided by slick rhythms and electrifying sound effects. Once again, the German producer demonstrates that the building blocks of dub, such as echo, reverb, and bass, can be taken to jaw-dropping heights with a psychedelic twist.
