Around every corner awaits a new atmosphere in the second episode of Augmented Research’s ‘Intelligence series. Showcasing a diverse spread of new generation sounds, the label calls on four artists who embody the now, shifting through blistering breakbeats and off-kilter percussive workouts.
Augmented Research is a Stuttgart-based label under the watch of Anton Braun. On a mission to motivate and platform the fringes of forward-thinking artists the label presents a modern sound in ar_002.
Representing a diverse and evolving club culture, the release appeals to listeners across varying subcultures, highlighting differing perspectives from innovative underground music.
The emotional depth and maturity of Raär's sound spurs a ritualistic take on scintillating leftfield percussion pushing a wave of IDM-adjacent techno. A prolific producer, Raär also heads two of his own imprints, ‘Soin’ which links lush ambiences with distinctive sound design and ‘Vaerel’, showcasing a more traditional approach to deeper, dreamier club sounds.
The VA also features techno contributions from Edict and live artist Sukkube alongside a breaky cut from Nebuchadnezzar.
Minimal Collective’s premiere pick is Raär’s Riparian Zone which awakens a rarely accessed state of mind. A dizzy headrush, supersonic syncopation leads the way as ominous tones shift through spaces between the beats.
