Berlin-based electronic collective Patterns of Perception recently launched its own record label, with the first release from Australian DJ and producer Nali: Chance Encounters EP (PTN01), consisting of four compelling, visionary tracks.
Patterns of Perception is the natural evolution of a sound developed at the collective’s parties since 2016, providing artists with the space and freedom to expand on their musical vision, while creating a permanent record of it. The label offers a showcase of the playful, psychedelic and warm musical direction that characterizes the collective.
Nali’s sound has been honed through years of work as both a DJ and producer in his hometown of Melbourne. His Chance Encounters EP features spacious, intricate grooves that dance and parry with luxuriant synths and infectious, acid-tinged basslines. Ingenious rhythms and hypnotic tones are carefully stacked on top of each other, without losing sight of important moments of redemption.
Nomadic Life, the premiere track and the final one of the EP, creates such an ambiance of relaxation after an extensive set of rousing, raw material.
