Randt’s artistic practice is rooted in experimentation. As one half of the Amsterdam duo Noem Waal, she previously explored the sonic potential of vintage tape equipment, manipulating live-recorded tape material through the use of magnets. This captured the possibility of allowing patterns to develop into ever-changing sequences of sound. She continues to draw on this curiosity in the upcoming All is a Pulse, where the exploration of evolving sound patterns expands into a wider dialogue between recordings, technology, and composition.

On her debut album, Randt leaves recordings untouched, including raw traces and fragments that speak to each other, together building a narrative from memory itself. Rather than shaping every detail, she steps back and lets the music emerge on its own terms, free from the usual structures of electronic production. One question kept returning: Can we still make something without unconsciously copying? The answer is 14 tracks that feel alive.

Minimal Collective’s premiere pick is Kingkorghieng. As repetition dissolves into unpredictability, the fine line between acoustic and electronic sound becomes difficult to trace. All is a Pulse will be presented during PAX ROMANA’s 5th anniversary.
