Amidst a whirlwind of high tempo productions from Vilhelm Hasselgren lie moments of stillness. Crest is the Gothenburg-based artist’s alias, emerging from a need for more ambient-oriented experimentation. After a long-standing collaboration under his own name, Crest now makes his debut on Bristol’s Rezonant Body with II.

Between Gothenburg and Bristol, Vilhelm Hasselgren and Rezonant Body label head Daddy Hypnen have collaborated on releases and events, exploring lesser-tapped spaces between ambient, dub and 170-centred hypnosis. Hasselgren has proven his versatility across production, DJ sets and hybrid live performance formats. After debuting his alias with Onyx on Villa Records, Crest presents a fluid progression with II, while simultaneously expanding Rezonant Body’s catalogue into new directions.

Across six tracks, Crest shapes a deep-listening piece through airy soundscapes and experimental sound design. Minimal Collective premieres 55.676098°. Silver-toned droplets echo through calming waves of ambient, forming a brief suspension of time.
