KR3 Records uncovers its 12th installment, a nine-headed reimagination of JK Flesh's original 'Veneer of Tolerances'. Swathed in the darkest of techno undertones, the release traipses across the genre’s myriad landscapes for an enduring reveal of what lies underneath.
Established in 2019, KR3 Rec has since been steadily exploring the inner depths of the dark, musical psyche. Teetering on the edges of obscure electronics, their releases uncover a fascination with techno's mutant underside. For this label, ‘strange’ is synonymous with home.
With its most recent release, ‘Veneer of Tolerance Remixes’, the label goes one step further in placing itself at the cusp of techno music’s myriad intersections. Spanning from gabber to ambient, nine cutting-edge reinterpretations slip seamlessly into JK Flesh’s iconic three-decade career.
Leading this particular release is Rrose, alias of California-based artist Seth Horvitz. With a solid repertoire of releases, published texts, and collaborative projects, Rrose is familiar with what it means to test perceptual and sonic limits. Not shy about positing themself within confronting political discourses, they blow the fuses as often on the topics of identity as with their artistry. From gender to social injustice they stretch droning compositions to unique, powerful odes.
Opening the double-vinyl, Rrose rises full-force with a hallucinogenic rework of 'Empty Words'. Set in a sensual hailstorm of noise, the track delivers an unforgiving take on a rawly resonating scene.
