Nadia Struiwigh channels her polymorphous experiments in live electronics into four tracks of propulsive techno for James Ruskin and Richard Polson’s Blueprint Records. Each configuration on the X1 SHIFT EP conjures a distinct form while retaining a highly charged magnetism that draws the listener forward through her ecstatic circuit.
Drawing inspiration from early electronic ambience and braindance experiments throughout the 90s, Nadia Struiwigh has developed a practice grounded in an intuitive symbiosis between human sensibilities and machinic experimentation. Equally renowned for producing richly textured ambient works, on X1 Shift, Struiwigh flips the polarity to deliver four dancefloor-ready excursions, echoing a time of transformative change and growth in the artist's life and practice as they hone in on a signature sound and identity.
Renowned for their distinct outings in rolling analogue techno, James Ruskin and Richard Polson extend this formula across their Blueprint label. X1 Shift is Nadia Struiwgh’s second dispatch on the London-based imprint, which has proven to be a welcome outpost for her heady electronics.
Minimal Collective shines a spotlight on Synk C, which conjures an electrical storm of swirling zaps and flourishes, shrouding a steadily rolling groove which drives forward with an inescapable pull.
