A-biotic continues its nascent chronicle with 'Andaman,' an incantatory IDM offering by Sindh. Along a continuum of witchy twists and turns, the French composer and live act creates a dark, introspective narrative that draws you in and holds its grip.
Following the intriguing VA Terrasonic Vol.1, A-biotic welcomes French artist Louis Rapet, known as Sindh, to release the first EP on the aspiring imprint. Born under the influence of oriental music and the fusion between modular sound and tribal percussion, Sindh’s creations embody an introspective ecosystem of sound.
'Andaman' is named after islands in the ocean that show a wide relief in terms of opening to modernity. Some islands are technologically connected, while others remain entirely isolated. The EP serves as a reflection on humanity's position between nature and technology, showcasing both the slow and fast aspects of our existence.
The EP traces the footsteps of Sindh's Gupta Tribes Album where ancient Indian civilizations served as rich inspiration. As the narrative unfolds, this EP goes beyond, intricately weaving in elements inspired by American pioneers like Vir Unis and Steve Roach. It transitions from raw, oriental sounds to a more pronounced IDM style including arpeggios and pads in the latter half.
Minimal Collective's premiere track, 'Kahakai' featuring Malie sets the EP's tone with a swell of occult drums. As spell-binding chants gradually unfold, they extend an invitation to mindful listening. This powerful opener serves as a gateway; preparing ears and mind for the striking colours of sound yet to come.
