Noting a far-reaching pool of influence—from early forms of electronic experimentation made famous by labels like Warp to the functional rhythms popularised by turn-of-the-century techno—Yildiz presents a holistic approach to modern electronica. As an artist, his process is entirely self-made with writing, mixing, and mastering the tracks over a two-year period, striving to curate a soundtrack for every moment or atmosphere.

The True To Sound EP is the first under his real name, Davut Yildiz. It showcases a versatile and refined style that blends modern techno with the spellbinding subtleties of ambient and percussion-focused tones. Drum work takes centre stage, encapsulating a state of flow throughout, effectively capturing the essence of contemporary sound design and enthralling psychedelia.

Minimal Collective premieres Stoomwolken Boven Pernis, an airy cut spawning from the more delicate corners of Yildiz’s soundsphere. Ever growing in momentum, the track catches the mind through ritualistic motifs and trippy acid squelches synonymous with forward thinking techno. A versatile addition to the EP, Stoomwolken Boven Pernis emits a sense of sonic wonder, suited to misty mornings on the dancefloor and laid back listening environments alike.
